Nepali movie ‘Talakjung Vs Tulke’ has been officially selected to represent Nepal in Best Foreign Language Film Catogory at the 88th Academy Awards next year.
The movie, which was released in 2014 is about the story about a day-laborer Tulke who struggles to reclaim his lost aristocratic identity, while a voilent revolution distrupts every aspect of village life. Directed by Nischal Basnet, the lead roles were played by actors Dayahang Rai, Richa Sharma and Prakash Ghimire.
Nine finalists from among the dozens of entries for the Best Foreign Language Film Catogory will be shortlisted in mid-December and the final five nominees are scheduled to be announced on 14 January 2016. The 88th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Feb 28, 2016.
